The past year has been one of extraordinary challenges. Through the struggles, cultural institutions across West Virginia have stepped up to the plate, often sacrificing pay checks and their free time to help their institutions survive. The winner of this award will demonstrate exceptional creativity and proficiency in the face of adversity - whether through innovative programming, new exhibits, community and staff support, any project considered an outstanding model or best practice, or simply finding an innovative way to keep the doors open.
It is free to nominate an institution, and anyone may submit an nomination. The nominated institution must be a member of WVAM in order to receive this award. Please refer to a list of our current members here or become a member today.
The winner will receive a commemorative plaque, a $250 prize, and the honor of winning the first annual WVAM Institution of the Year Award. The winner will be announced at our annual membership meeting on March 26th at 10am, virtually via Zoom.
The deadline for submitting a nomination is March 1st, 2021. The winner will be determined by vote of an impartial committee and will be judged on their merits within the context of their own institutional capacity.
